A propos (English)
Before starting out as an illustrator in 2020, I was a microbiologist for 15 years (a profession as exciting as it was intriguing).
I have always been passionate about natural sciences, cabinets of curiosities and vintage. When I was little, I often dragged my parents to the Paris Natural History Museum and spent hours observing the curiosities in jars <3
I consider myself a modern witch, the use of plants punctuates my daily life, and I love sharing/exchanging on the subject!
My world oscillates between witchcraft, curiosities and herbalism.
I like illustrating pages of grimoires, herbalism plates, as much as separate elements. I am often inspired by 16th century herbaria (like those of Bock or Fuchs), but also medieval illuminations and naturalist drawing in general.
I work on a traditional medium, from sketching to inking with a fountain pen, to finishing with coloring with watercolor, a medium that I have been working for 30 years.
My favorite subjects are plants, esoteric objects and animals, especially the otter!
This creature is very dear to my heart, and I make a point of representing it through delicately fanciful illustrations
